In 2001 Barry Joyce had the vision to help Rockingham County residents in need. Research during his battle with prostate cancer made him aware of how very few resources were available for cancer patients in the area. The Joyce family came together and The Fund was created to help fulfill this critical need.

Since its inception, The Barry L. Joyce Local Cancer Support Fund has assisted hundreds of cancer patients and their families in Rockingham County. We have financially helped every patient that has applied and been in need of assistance. The Barry Joyce Cancer Resource Center allows us to help on an emotional and educational level as well – both of which are just as important when dealing with something as devastating as cancer.

This has been in thanks to the overwhelming support of so many in our community. We are truly grateful to all of those that have helped us make a difference and continue to support our mission because the need is great and continues to rise.
