Every 12 hours, someone in Rockingham County hears the words, “You have cancer.”

In 2001, during his own battle with prostate cancer, Barry Joyce discovered just how few resources existed for local families facing cancer. He believed no one in our community should have to face that journey alone. That belief became The Barry L. Joyce Local Cancer Support Fund.

Today, because of the overwhelming support of our community, we have helped more than 28,000 local friends and neighbors facing cancer across Rockingham County. We have provided financial, emotional, and educational support to families during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Helping with everything from meals, transportation, and basic living expenses to support groups, daycations, and meaningful moments of connection through The Barry Joyce Cancer Resource Center.

Most importantly, we have financially helped every eligible applicant who has reached out in need. And the need continues to grow.
Every dollar given stays right here in Rockingham County, directly helping local families who are battling cancer today. Because of you, no one faces cancer alone.
